God. Powerful word isn't it? Hindus believe in many gods. Our culture, singular god.

Why?

Our development of gods, is directly related to our view of relationships. In societies that believe in a more monogamous style relationships with one mother and one father, the god is singular. The sex of the god is determined by the dominant sex of society.

Our relationship with "god" is setup from our very earliest stages of development. We are pretty much completely dependant on help from our parents from the ages of 0 to 5 (and sometimes beyond that.) The whole way we deal with the supernatural has to do with our inate belief that when we cry for help, someone _will_ come.

Now it could be certainly argued that we are setup to believe in god and that in itself is proof of god, other animals in the mammal kingdom are born nearly completely dependant and with full functioning motor skills. We on the other hand are completely dependant on "god", which would be our parents, and why god is usually always anthropromorphized as a parent. Think about how god "looks"... he looks like a grandfather. When the first wise elder died, it'd be easy to imagine that he's "still" watching over from above. On top of the nearest mountain. In the clouds.

So... god is completely psychosomatic, due to the way we develop.

Is that necessarily a bad thing? There must be some reason, we developed in such a way.

But it could be as simple, as the none believing homonids, died out because they didn't believe (i.e. they were killed.).

This just in. God is a "noodly appendage".

I agree with all of his points, and think religion is a very dangerous thing to modern man. We can't continue down the path of exclusive beliefs as the world gets smaller.

I cannot stand christians anymore. They claim to be all about "morality" and "doing unto others as you would have done unto you"... but, god forbid that they should not throw a temper tantrum about disallowing gay marriage, or furthering stem cell research. Or letting a brain dead woman die. God forbid should they actually put themselves into these people's shoes and think about it from their POV.

The young souls are just stuck in a rut. A few more cycles and maybe they'll realize the importance like I do.

So I've been playing RE4 now for 11 hours, And by far I have to say that there are two enemies by far that stand out as the most evil in any video game.

Chainsaw guy... super agressive and instant death. Probably the most disturbing creation since the texas chainsaw massacre... and there was only one of them!

Freddy kreuger guys (the ones that are blind). Sure they have a weak spot in their back. But one mis-step and they'll impale your skull with their 5 foot claws.

here is what I think of homosexuality.

1) Are people born gay.

1.1) A behavioral study of monkeys shows that most "boy" monkeys preferred playing with the cars, and most "girl" monkeys preferred playing with the "dolls". It's interesting to note the behavioral difference of "gays" can have an interesting slope. From a gay who likes what most guys do, to a gay that plays barbies with the local neighborhood girls. On this end of the extreme, is an interesting effect where the individual says (occasionaly) "i feel like I'm the wrong sex"

1.2) Fruit fly study shows that by taking one of the alleles that determines whether you are a male or female and placing it in the male, it changes the sexual behaviour of the fruit fly.

1.3) Study shows that rats exposed to prenatal stress, express female mating actions. (which adler of course being the expert neurologist has exposed as a fraud.)

1.4) Italian genecists determine how the recessive trait of homosexuality could spread through the ages.

There is of course groups like narth that have an agenda to keep the status quo. They believe that homosexuality is the fault of the parents, not loving their kids enough. They of course have no statistical proof to back this up, and if it were true, washington, and vermont (single parent high populous areas) would have much greater percentages of homosexuals. (vermont is a catch 22 though, being as they allow homosexual unions it attracts homosexuals to move there.)

2) ok, ok so Homosexuality may be genetic or an environmental condition beyond the control of the individual.. why should we accept this behavior into society and not pedophilia, ebophilia and necrophilia? (etc.)

2.1) Well those other sexual bents may very well be genetic or prenatally environmental. It's less likely, as it'd be like someone developing an attraction to a hole in the wall. Or the excessive masturbator would start being attracted to other men's hands.

2.2) The biggest difference homosexuality has over those other "stints" is that homosexuality is almost always* practiced by two consenting adults.

2.3) the other things mentioned in 2, are also almost always about power and control. This suggests a more neurological basis for the development. For instance the pastor who forces the deacon to perform fellatio is using his power and authority to control the individual. it's unlikely that said pastor is homosexual. But since he was told sex is a sin and to repress it, it created power issues with him.

3) So why don't we snuff it out? we're working to fix genetic disorders aren't we?

3.1) and in this brave new world, will you be "perfect enough"?

3.2) I'm all for fixing debilitating things like leukemia, alzheimers, cancer... but I really don't see how "fixing" the homosexual gene, is advancing the human race.

4) aren't homosexuals attracted to young boys?

4.1) No they are not, in the same way heterosexuals are not attracted to young girls.

4.2) the large amounts of recent ebophilia cases show that older women are abusing their sexual power over young boys more than anything. This is either on the rise, or is being reported more. In the recent florida case, the teacher wasn't convicted because "you can't put a woman like that in prison"..... no but they certainly would a man :| (off topic I realize).

many people I've ran into believe that aliens implanted their genes into apes and created a hybrid race (us). Their are a few problems I have with this theory:

1) Where did the aliens come from? Who evolved them, or were they spontaneously created?

2) Why don't the aliens interact with anyone but crazy folks?

Let's say that your walking down the street, and you see a pane of glass come down and split a person in half. You know that there is no way possible the person will live but you reassure them that everything will be fine. Several people in the street start praying for her. Several minutes later an ambulance shows up, but it is already too late. She has passed away.

The problem is two fold against God.
#1 why did god allow this woman/man to walk where the pane of glass was falling? let's say that this person was a devout believer in god went to church every sunday and prayed to god every night. when push comes to shove why didn't god step and and move the glass plate?
#2 Why did god not listen to the prayers to keep her alive after letting her be cut in half? Is God powerless to listen to the prayers of a group of strangers who are concerned for this woman/man's life?

If god has the power to help and doesn't he is evil.
If god is powerless to help than the only thing seperating him from us is "immortality".
